Due to Level 3 restrictions being implemented nationwide, the hospitality industry has had to rethink how they operate once again. Unfortunately, for some, it means closing until things improve, but for others, they have adapted by offering takeaway services.

Pepper’s Pub – for a mouth-watering feed

As the cultural epicentre of East Clare, Peppers prides itself in its delicious dishes and meals. Weather permitting, you can even enjoy your meal sitting outside this historic pub. Indulge yourself with a steak sandwich, or perhaps try an array of their incredible homemade desserts!

Open from 3pm to 8pm seven days a week, Peppers is one of the top places for a brilliant feed. You can place an order for takeaway from 12pm, and that can be done by ringing 061 924 322

Nuala’s Bar and Restaurant – for warm and comforting food

Having adapted to offering takeaways during the last lockdown, Nuala’s have a spectacular takeaway service on offer. They are serving Tuamgraney and the surrounding area with delicious freshly prepared dishes that will excite your tastebuds. Enjoy pan-fried chicken with a creamy mushroom sauce or perhaps indulge yourself with some dessert.

Offering takeaway services seven days a week from 10am every day apart from Sunday when Nuala’s opens at 12pm. The menu can be viewed here, and you can also order online. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for daily specials. They will even drop your takeaway into the boot of your car! Weather permitting, you can enjoy your food outside behind Nualas.

The Half Barrel – did someone say takeaway desserts?

This cosy, family-run Whitegate pub is renowned for its delicious home-cooked food. Luckily for those in the vicinity of Whitegate, the Half Barrel is offering a selection of main courses and delicious desserts for takeaway! Now you can enjoy all your usual treats from the comfort of your own home, with the knowledge that you are supporting local.

The Garden Café – for vegetarian delights

As part of the East Clare Community Cooperative, the Garden Café is unique in that it serves healthy home-cooked vegetarian dishes. Using some of their homegrown vegetables to create a magnificent array of dishes, the food here is unbelievably fresh and tasty. With specials changing daily, this café will excite even the most avid meat-eaters.

Open Monday through Friday, orders can be placed between 9:30am and 12:30pm with collections taking place between 12:30pm and 3pm. Check out the dishes on offer by visiting their Facebook page. The Lakeside Hotel – for four-star quality at home

While the hotel bar and restaurant are closed to non-residents, they are however serving their delicious O’Hara’s Bar food for takeaway. Enjoy some gourmet sandwiches, a host of fish dishes, and delicious burgers. There is even some yummy vegan, and vegetarian options such as a spinach, chickpea and potato curry served with basmati rice and Naan.

McNamara’s Bistro Bar – for delicious pub grub

Situated in the heart of Scarriff, Macks have created a mouth-watering menu for takeaway. They offer all of their usual delicious pub-grub along with changing daily specials. Bring the comfort of the pub home with you as you tuck into some bangers and mash or perhaps some beer-battered fish and chips.

The Snug Café Wine Bar -for handmade pizzas 

If you are a fan of pizza and tapas, then a takeaway from the Snug in Mountshannon should do the trick! In the afternoon, you can expect to get your caffeine fix and some delicious treats. While in the evening you can order a range of pizzas, tapas, salads and desserts for takeaway.

Takeaways are available Wednesday through Sunday with varied opening hours. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday they open from 11am for coffee, and then from 4pm till 8:30pm, they offer mains. Ponte Vecchio – for a delicious pizza night

Located in the lakeside town of Mountshannon, Cois na hAbhna has adapted to the times by creating a delicious takeaway menu. They are operating with a reduced menu, offering their much-loved staples, including the mouthwatering beer-battered cod and chips.

The Holly Tree Café - for incredible homebaked goodness

Nestled in the heart of Tulla, the Holly Tree Café is a hot favourite amongst locals. They serve barista-made coffee, delicious cakes and yummy treats during the day which attracts quite the crowd. You can also expect to find a range of tasty dinner options for takeaway which change regularly.
